What you might not know, however, is that Summer Breeze is more than just a concert. It’s a full-day festival, packed with free food, games, and other attractions. It’s a surreal experience, watching the main quad transform into a full-scale carnival, complete with a dunk tank where you can take your chances to soak your RA. It’s the day every year where the entire campus comes together to celebrate, and it’s that sense of unity that makes me feel proud to be a UChicago student.
The concert itself, of course, was amazing. This year’s concert boasted the first all-female lineup in Summer Breeze history, and they rocked. It was the best concert I’d been to all year. As a fourth-year student, I probably won’t have another opportunity to attend Summer Breeze again in the future, but this was a good one to go out on.
