Qualified students in the College can pursue a joint BA/MA degree in the Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences. The Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) is a one-year program of graduate studies leading to the master’s degree. In addition to completing a core course and satisfying a methods requirement, students select additional graduate courses from any University division or professional school. Under the direction of a faculty advisor and MAPSS preceptor, the program culminates upon completion of an M.A. thesis in a specific concentration. Students can concentrate in anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, sociology, or interdisciplinary studies.
