Through the BA and BS in neuroscience, students study the brain and nervous system from various disciplinary angles, building off of fundamental calculus and chemistry skills learned as part of the Core curriculum. After taking introductory classes in neuroscience, statistics, and physics, students go on to take electives focusing on Neurobiology, Psychology, Computer Science, Physics, and Biology. Students then have the opportunity to work with world-class University of Chicago faculty to pursue original research in their fourth year.
Students who are in interested in neuroscience also have the opportunity to major in Biological Science and specialize in Neuroscience. The minor in Neuroscience is intended to provide neuroscientific literacy for students whose primary interest lies in other fields.
