College Admissions

The University of Chicago

Apply Online

The Common Application is a tool used by hundreds of member colleges to make the college application process more convenient for students. You can fill out one Common Application and send it to any number of Common Application members. The University of Chicago only accepts the Common Application for admission to the College, though to it must be added our required Common Application supplement, which can be found and submitted online through the Common Application websitesu. To get started on an application to the University of Chicago, please go to the Common Application’s website and create an account.

After you submit the Common Application, you will be prompted via email to sign into our website. When you sign in you will be able to request an alumni interview, update your basic information (including address and high school), update your application with new information (such as awards or changes in your academic program), and apply for financial aid.

We also require that several of the forms available on the Common Application be submitted in support of your application, such as instructor recommendations and the secondary school report. Please refer to our guidelines for first year applicants, international applicants, or transfer applicants for more information.

Questions about technical matters related to using the Common Application should be directed to the folks at the Common Application. Questions about our own requirements and recommendations should be directed to us.
